About
Warren c. Volles

High honors 12th grade student at Kent School, interested in aerospace engineering and environmental sciences
research goals
I’m drawn to aerospace engineering and environmental science because I believe advanced technology should serve both exploration and sustainability. I want to develop systems that mitigate space debris and protect Earth’s orbital environment, ensuring that future generations can continue to benefit from space-based infrastructure. I'm especially interested in cleaner propulsion methods and fuel-efficient aircraft designs that reduce emissions and environmental impact. I also see satellites as powerful tools for environmental monitoring, from tracking climate change to observing deforestation and natural disasters. In addition, I’m fascinated by planetary protection and astrobiology—how aerospace design must prevent biological contamination of other worlds and safeguard Earth from anything potentially harmful we bring back. As I pursue a career in aerospace engineering and environmental science, I’m committed to building solutions that respect and preserve our planet—both on the ground and in orbit, and across the solar system.
